My Projects

Czech Rocket Society

  • Member of a Thrust chamber assembly team for a Starfox project. This is a mission which aims to develop a demonstrator for liquid propulsion engine. My responsibility was development of a co-axial injector prototype.

Master's thesis

  • System Analysis of a Novel Water Electrolysis Propulsion System for a Satellite Mission in Low Earth Orbit. Part of an effort to create a satellite propulsion system with safe and sustainable propellant. I investigated feasibility of a Water Electrolysis Propulsion (WEP) which uses water as a primary propellant for satellites in Low Earth Orbit. I worked on identification of major challenges in its development and operation and did preliminary design of a satellite which uses WEP. I also examined behaviours and dependencies of individual WEP components and mathematical model representing them at varying operating conditions. I considered sizing of satellite subsystems for WEP application and run comparison to an equivalent conventional propulsion satellite.

Munich Orbital Verification Experiment

  • Member of the “mechanical implementation” team in a project to design and manufacture a 6U Cubesat. Responsible for deployable subsystems - solar panels and communication subsystems. Acted as a system engineer. Communicated with representatives from individual subsystems, worked on representing systems in diagrams, planned resource budgets and communicated changes with group management.

Scientific Workgroup for Rocketry and Spaceflight

  • I worked as a systems engineer on a project that aimed to design and construct a sounding rocket. My responsibilities were to represent individual systems in block diagrams, communicate with representatives from each subsystems and engage in project planning.

Bachelor's thesis

  • Preliminary design and validation of a single stage Mars Ascent Vehicle. My goal was to follow up on NASA Mars 2020 mission which aims to bring samples back from Mars. My thesis aimed on design of a vehicle which would bring samples from Mars surface to its orbit. The project had the following iterative cycle: Vehicle design, validation using CFD, validation using my own code on a principle of equations of motions and two bodies problem.

Swansea University Aerospace Society

  • I acted as a vice president of Aerospace Engineering student group. Which brought together aerospace engineers and space enthusiast from other fields. I was responsible for organization of social events, tours and meetings between students and industry representatives. I handled communication with university administration to secure funding and lease premises for group’s activities. I also served as an overseer of a flight simulator.

NASA L’SPACE Academy

  • Participant of first NASA L’SPACE Academy. Our goal was to design a cheap and simple Mars landing module. And to prepare technical documentation based on NASA standards to give a proof of concept. I was responsible for risk analysis and reduction. Involved in lander design and relevant simulations. Documenting dynamically changing project with change roadmap and factors influencing process evolution.
